Directions for Use:
Use cold therapy to reduce swelling and inflammation, and as soon as possible after exercise or injury for maximum benefit. Chill gel packs in freezer 30 minutes prior to use, or cool in cold water for 15 minutes. Apply into boots and leave in place for at least 20 minutes, but NO MORE than 30 minutes.
Use hot therapy to speed the healing process, provided there has been NO swelling for 48 hours, and legs have stabilized. Place gel packs in bowl of water and heat in microwave on High for 2 minutes. Repeat if necessary. Alternatively, heat in bowl of hot water for 15 minutes. Packs should be warm but not hot enough to burn when applied directly on skin. Test before applying to horse's leg. Apply into boots and leave on until packs have cooled or repeat treatment if needed. Be cautious of overheating.
Previous Feedback
Comments: I was really hopeful that these ice wraps would work out. First of all, I find the design excellent, and the quality of the wraps themselves to be very high. I use these specifically for my horse's hocks and they stay put, even with some argumentative kicking. However, they do not stay cold for very long. I frequently use them once my horse has been rinsed after a long ride and they actually seem to absorb more heat than cool the joint. I was disappointed because the tendon version of these wraps stays cold forever.

Comments: These are nice, solid, heavy-duty ice wraps. The ice pack stays soft when frozen, and stays cool for well over 30 minutes. I've used these on knees and fetlocks and they seem to stay put and do a good job cooling the leg.

Comments: Well, save your money and buy something else. Unfortunately, these ice boots do not cool a leg down whatsoever, even when left on for a good 30 minutes.
