Customer Reviews
Cinch GallsPlease help me choose the correct cinch. I thought this one would be great for my smaller horse with lots of wrinkles in her skin behind the elbows. However, due to a winter coat and the fleece, much of the skin behind her elbows rubbed off during a 30-mile ride. Nothing wrong with this product, but would a cord/mohair girth be a better choice for my horse?
RW Response: Hi, thank you so much for your inquiry! While material is definitely important, we think that a different shaped girth might help increase comfort in this case. Anatomic and shoulder relief girths can be a great option for horses who have a lot going on in their elbow area! Someone from our helpful customer service team will reach out to you with a more in-depth answer, but in the mean time feel free to check out our how to choose a girth or cinch article for some helpful tips on type, materials, and more!
Avoid the Passport Girths.I bought this girth because the shorter size of the Toklat Coolback girth I was using was unavailable. I must say this girth has the worst buckles I have ever used. Nothing like the quality of their other girths. The stamped metal started rusting right away and the rollers jammed. I have replaced it with a Coolback. I do not know why they would distribute the Passport girths under their own name. Avoid if you don't want frustrations.

Comments: My favorite girth of all time. I ride endurance, and I have used this girth all over the country. Literally. I moved from KY to WA two years ago and we rode across the country, even up to Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. My arabian gelding is super sensitive and he needed something that was soft and flexible enough to move with him. I have purchased about 8 of these girths and when the fleece begins to wear out in a few years, from riding and washing, I throw one out and use another. I probably buy one or two every other year. You cant beat the price for the quality and I really abuse my gear regularly. No issues with the elastic like someone else mentioned. I did come into possession of a toklat dressage girth and I can say its made a lot stiffer than my passport girth. I still prefer the passport girth, but I can see the difference and why someone might think the elastic is less effective. It really is designed for a sensitive horse who likely needs a lot less pressure or to be com fortable over a much longer distance.

Comments: Bought one 3 years ago when I first got my dressage saddle to use with my endurance horse, and have had wonderful luck with this girth. Some of the nickel-plating on the buckles has flaked off, but that's expected. Coming back to order another one now just to have another on hand if and when the original does break. It has lasted amazingly well with how hard we ride, and has never budged an inch from where it is supposed to be. Definitely a quality girth for the price.

Comments: Bought this for my barely 14hh tank. I didn't want to spend a lot because he's still growing. Very nice quality for the money. Not quite as nice as some of the more expensive girths, but looks good and works well. It fit nicely on my guy who has such a small girth area. I do think the Velcro is a pain. I think I will cut it to about half its width so it's not so cumbersome.

Comments: Would not buy this again; bought 2 because they were less expensive and now I am trying to get rid of them. Should have known that if it is too good to be true, then it probably is. They may be fine if you are just doing slow precision work in an arena, but if you have an endurance saddle and are doing faster work out on trails, the fleece will not stay in place under the roller buckles, despite the velcro (and I made it very snug).

Comments: Very soft and flexible, well made, but the elastic is far too light, over stretchy, would not be a secure ride at all. Disappointing. Really miss the heavy white elastic Toklat used to use.
