Myler Bits
As third generation horsemen, the founders of Myler Bits developed a theory of tongue pressure and tongue relief through training their own horses. The philosophy behind the innovative design of these bits is based on the concept of relaxed communication between horse and rider. With a variety of mouthpiece and cheekpiece options, Myler Bits can be effective for horses of all disciplines and experience levels. Questions about bit choices? Check out our Myler Bit Level Guide.
Myler Level 1 Bits
Level 1 bits feature mouthpieces with the least amount of tongue relief to provide maximum control and security, appropriate for young or inexperienced horses
Myler Level 2 Bits
Level 2 bits apply less tongue pressure than Level 1 and introduce the concept of tongue relief with low-ported or flexible mouthpieces; these are appropriate for young or inexperienced horses with trustworthy dispositions or moderately experienced horses transitioning to the Myler bitting system.
Myler Level 2-3 Bits
Level 2-3 bits feature ported mouthpieces to offer tongue relief with varying degrees of potential tongue pressure for control or correction; they are appropriate for moderately experienced horses with reliable dispositions and/or horses training in performance disciplines requiring tongue relief and precise control for maximum communication and clarity.
Myler Level 3 Bits
Level 3 bits offer mouthpieces designed to provide maximum tongue relief and use primarily bar, poll, and curb pressure with virtually no tongue pressure; these bits are appropriate for experienced horses with solid dispositions, consistent performance, and mild or no control issues.
