LOVE this bareback pad!I got one of these and loved it. Super comfortable and truly did not slip even on my very round horse. I immediately bought one as a gift for a friend.

Comments: This is my favorite pad. I have had one for 15 years. I have a blue one, leopard print and just purchased one in purple. I use it with a Barefoot brand english saddle pad, along with a regular english pad. Even with 2 pads I haven't had trouble with slippage. I prefer riding bareback and have tried several pads- always returning to this one. Thanks Riding warehouse for fast shipping. This purple pad will look great with my galaxy print saddle pad.

Comments: I agree with the other reviewers that this pad stays in place and provides enough grip for the rider to stay put. I also agree that it is hot in hot weather, but no more than my saddle. Claudia talked of pressure on the withers - I have that problem too. My horse has average withers and if I secure the pad to any normal tension it is too tight on the withers. I often hold it up away from my horse at the withers because I am concerned that it will cause a sore spot. Consequently, I am still looking for a bareback pad with more wither clearance.

Comments: This bareback pad has lots of cushion for a comfortable ride. I like that it has a girth which is adjustable on either side. If you're riding on hot days I've noticed that the pad heats up and traps body heat between you and your horse which is not pleasant. It stays in place fairly well, but will slid back on hills.

Comments: This bareback pad is very comfortable due to the padding. I find that it seems to get pretty hot when riding in hot weather. I wish it came with small front D-rings to attach a breastplate since it does slide back if you have a horse with tall withers.

Comments: One of the best bareback pads I've tried. Very comfortable to ride in, and stays put. Girth seems a bit flimsy though, but with proper care should hold up over time. Red color looks stunning!

Comments: I use this for myself and for kids taking lessons. It is cushy and doesn't slip. The suede top really helps you feel secure. We've been using it for a few years and it shows no sign of wear.

Comments: This is the best bareback pad I've ever had! Its sturdy, doesn't slip, and is super comfortable to sit on! The suede seat also gives you some grip - much easier than riding bareback without a pad!

Comments: Nice bareback pad, very comfortable to sit in, and provides the rider with a lot of grip. It doesn't slip sideways which is really nice, but it does slip back a bit after being ridden in for a while. I'd say 4 out of 5 stars :)

Comments: I really like this bareback pad - way better than anything else I've ever tried. At least four people at my barn use these pads, and they get used a lot. They conform very nicely to the horse so they don't move around or slip back like traditional bareback pads. The waffle neoprene bottom helps it stick in place too. The suede top gives the rider lots of grip, and the girth has a little "give" to it so it is easy to do up. It's a nice thickness - you have some padding, but it's thin enough that you can still really feel your horse move.

Comments: I agree with everyone that this pad stays in place and is VERY comfortable. All surprisingly good. However, I wish the wither contour was even more extended or the area cut back so there is no contact on the wither area. If I ride with a very loose girth (pretty much hanging loose) there is little to no pressure on the wither... but if I tighten it slightly there is unwelcome pressure on the wither - the very thing I am trying to avoid. The good news is that the non-slip material works so well that I can let the girth hang loose, but ideally would like to have the girth with a bit of tension. Perhaps an improvement to plan for another version of this pad.
