Performing as a flexible protective shield for the lower leg, leather half chaps deflect chafing or pinching from stirrup leathers while also providing compression support to prevent muscle fatigue.

Comments: These are my favorite half chaps! The leather is soft and comfortable so they instantly feel broken in. I love that they are "washable" so I can just hose them off if they get dirty. I also love Ariat sizing for half chaps in general, so much better than the generic small/medium/large brands. After two pairs, they aren't necessarily the most durable but they last me at least a couple of years with riding 4-5 days per week. It's usually the elastic panel that starts wearing though, not the leather, so it's more aesthetic wear. Highly recommend if you're like me and can't stand bulky/stiff leather under your leg. I'll keep buying these until Ariat stops making them (hopefully never).

Comments: Got these to replace my Ariat All-Around chaps that died on me after 5 years. They are soft and fit like a glove, but they're fairly thin and don't feel super heavy duty, so not sure how they'll hold up in the long run. Very comfortable and grippy, even more so if you condition the inner leg panel well.

Comments: I have had these half chaps for about two years, and they didn't hold up as well as expected. I take good care of my things, but they developed a hole in the fabric, elastic leg panel on both. I was very disappointed, given how expensive they are. I never "washed" them, but cleaned them periodically on the leather parts.
